How our Business Coaching works
We follow a structured process so nothing gets missed and every hour you spend with us produces something useful. Here is what happens from the first conversation to your ongoing growth.
The six steps
Every engagement follows the same core sequence. The content of each step varies depending on your business, but the structure stays consistent because it works.
Discovery call (free, 30 minutes)
We hop on a video call. You tell us about your business: what you sell, how much revenue you bring in, how many people work for you and what keeps you up at night. We ask pointed questions about your sales pipeline, cash flow and daily operations. By the end of the call, we both know whether coaching is the right fit. If it is not, we will say so and point you toward a better resource.
This call is free and carries no obligation. About 70% of the people who book a discovery call end up becoming clients. The other 30% either need a different kind of help (like a bookkeeper or a lawyer) or are not ready to commit the time.
Business diagnostic (week 1–2)
Once you sign up, we dig in. You share your last 12 months of financial statements, your current pricing sheet, any marketing reports you have and your organizational chart. For Growth and Scale clients, we also schedule 30-minute interviews with up to five of your key employees.
The diagnostic produces a written report that covers three areas: financial health (margins, cash cycle, overhead ratio), sales effectiveness (conversion rates, average deal size, lead sources) and operational efficiency (where time gets wasted, which processes depend on a single person). This report is yours to keep regardless of what happens next.
90-day action plan (week 2–3)
Based on the diagnostic, we build a 90-day plan. It contains specific actions, each one assigned to a person with a deadline. We do not write vague goals like "improve marketing." Instead, the plan might say: "By March 15, launch a referral programme offering existing clients a $100 credit for every new client they bring in. Owner creates the landing page; office manager sends the email to the client list by March 8."
We review this plan together on a call and adjust anything that feels unrealistic given your schedule and resources.
Weekly coaching sessions (ongoing)
This is where the real work happens. Every week (or every two weeks for Starter clients), we meet for 60 minutes on video. The first 15 minutes review what you committed to doing the previous week: what got done, what did not, and why. The next 30 minutes focus on the highest-priority item from your action plan. The last 15 minutes set your commitments for the coming week.
Sessions are recorded so you can revisit them. Most clients tell us that the accountability alone is worth the fee: knowing someone will ask "Did you do it?" changes behaviour fast.
Quarterly review (every 90 days)
At the end of each 90-day cycle, we sit down for a longer session (90 minutes). We compare your current numbers to where you were 90 days ago. Revenue, profit margin, number of clients, employee satisfaction scores if we track them, pipeline value. We celebrate what worked and honestly assess what did not.
Then we build the next 90-day plan. Over time, the plans shift from fixing problems to pursuing opportunities. That shift usually happens around month four or five.
Graduation or continued partnership
Some clients work with us for six months and leave with the systems they need to keep growing on their own. Others stay for years because they value the outside perspective and accountability. There is no pressure either way. When you feel ready to go solo, we schedule a final session to document everything we built together and create a maintenance checklist so nothing falls through the cracks.
What to expect from your coach
Your coach is not a cheerleader. Expect direct feedback. If your pricing is too low, we will show you the math and help you raise it. If a product line is losing money, we will recommend cutting it. If you are avoiding a hard conversation with an employee, we will help you prepare for it and hold you accountable to having it.
At the same time, we listen. Running a business is stressful, and sometimes you need 10 minutes to vent before you can think clearly. That is fine. We are human too.
Every coach on our team has at least eight years of experience either running a business or working in senior management. They hold relevant credentials (ICF coaching certification, CPA, PMP or equivalent), but more importantly, they have made payroll on a tight month and understand the weight of that responsibility.
What we expect from you
Coaching works when both sides show up prepared. Here is what we ask of every client.
Show up on time
Sessions start at the scheduled minute. If you need to reschedule, give us 24 hours notice. Repeated no-shows waste both our time and your money.
Share real numbers
We cannot help if we are working with incomplete or inflated data. Give us access to your actual financials, even the ugly ones. Everything stays confidential.
Do the work between sessions
Each session ends with commitments. They might take 2 hours that week or 10. The point is to make progress, not just talk about it. If something comes up and you cannot finish a task, tell us early so we can adjust the plan.
Be honest about what is not working
If a recommendation does not fit your business or your personality, say so. We would rather adjust the approach than have you nod along and ignore it.
Ready to start?
The discovery call is free and takes 30 minutes. No pitch deck, no pressure. Just a conversation about your business and whether we can help.
